When I was going to bar review class in the summer of 2008, I had this button on my backpack so that people could I was proud to be a Jew supporting then-Senator Obama:
The reason I wrote this is because the same meme that is playing out this year, that Jewish voters will not vote for Barack Obama, was playing out back in 2008 as well. Everyone was discussing how then-Senator Obama would not achieve the same 74% of the Jewish vote that John Kerry received in 2004. They were right about that. It's just that they weren't right in the way they thought they would be. Barack Obama received 78% of the Jewish vote, right in line with recent Democratic averages.
